The FDA Isn't Doing Enough

By Albert on August 20, 2010 9:38 AM

The latest egg recall of at least 380 million eggs and at least 2000 people sick caused by salmonella is just another sign that the "folks" at the FDA are simply not doing their job.

From what I've learned by reading books and watching films about the food industry shows a cozy and possibly corrupt relationship between the "officials" at the FDA and the executives at the largest food corporations: Monsanto, Tyson, numerous mega-farms and meat processing plants.

Why aren't more people outraged??

I also have to question the "authorities" who announced that the seafood coming from the Gulf of Mexico so quickly after the BP oil leak was capped is safe to eat when most scientists and researchers are stating that more testing and data is needed.

I'd never seen a purple pepper before, so I just had to buy one and try it!

Pristine Apple

I bought this Pristine Apple at a marketplace right near where I live named Grosvenor Market that has an awesome selection of local produce.

I've never heard of Pristine Apples before, so I just had to give one a try!

Heirloom Tomatoes

I love that heirloom tomatoes are getting more attention! In a nutshell, they are tomatoes grown from the best seeds of last year's harvest, kept again and again, harvest after harvest.

I bought these two heirloom tomatoes at the local organic marketplace:

Organic Raspberries by Driscoll's

These Organic Raspberries by Driscoll's were absolutely delectable! I bought 2 for $5 at My Organic Marketplace and hope that they are still the same price when I go back tomorrow.
