Eating on the Run

Roadside restaurants are a necessity for any good road trip. Sure there is McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's, but there are other options too. Its tough to tell what's available without a little planning, but with a little planning you can definitely find some yummy treats. I'm currently on a drive from Boston to Philadelphia and I'm going to try to find a good, quick place to grab some grub for dinner.

Pizza Cucina

Pizza CucinaWe just pulled off route 95 south exit 74 in Connecticut and luckily found Pizza Cucina, a small pizza parlor with a lot of charm. After a quick bathroom break, we ordered two caesar salads, a Pelligrino water, and a mushroom and broccoli pizza. The waitress was friendly and attentive, and soon brought over some tasty focaccia bread. One thing that impresses me about restaurants is their patrons. I got the feeling that this pizza place was frequented by a loyal customer base, and it was busy tonight.
Shortly after we finished our salads, the pizza arrived hot out of the oven. We took it in - a great looking pizza to boot. After a minute to cool it was ready to eat. Tasty indeed, we ate it all. At only $24.85, the dinner was a great deal. We left a friendly tip and were back on the road before long. Definitely check out Pizza Cucina if you are in the neighborhood!2007-06-08_pizza-cuchina-2.jpg
