My sister and I went to a restaurant called Safran this past Saturday, October 11, 2008. Its located in the Chelsea area of Manhattan, New York. The restaurant is good and has a lot of potential. First and foremost, the food is tasty. Its French / Vietnamese food, and we had hot and sour soup, summer rolls, steamed white fish with noodles, as well as curried tofu with vegetables.Another important factor they got right was the service - the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. So what wasn't quite right with the restaurant? The interior could use a little boost, but the major problem was the music. It was in-your-face loud, and was probably the oddest selection of tunes I've ever heard in a restaurant.Would I go back? If the opportunity presented itself, sure!
