I had never had tamales before, but I tried a one at my cousins house that he had got from Trader Joe's. Really good stuff. It's basically cheese and chicken wrapped in a corn meal type outer shell. You just throw them in the microwave for like 6 minutes and then you're good to go. I like to go an extra step and throw a little hot sauce on them. They're a good substitute if you don't feel like going the distance and making them from scratch. The kind I bought were chicken and cheese, I'm pretty sure they have other flavors also, but thats all they had in stock when I bought them.
