Thanksgiving

I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year. Since I've moved away from my family, it will be really nice to see them all. I've been eating mostly frozen pizzas lately, so a warm, home cooked meal will be much appreciated too. We'll probably have the usual - one turkey for the meat eaters, and then some salmon for the veggies. We also cook two versions of stuffing - one in the turkey and one vegetarian version. I actually like the vegetarian one too because its a little crispy. And then of course, all the fixins': cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash, turnip, roasted brussel sprouts (on of my favorites), parsnip (another one of my favorites) and more. Yes, I love to eat and thus I love Thanksgiving! It also happens to include our Annual Thanksgiving Scrabble Tournament, which I've been practicing for because we've lost the last two years! Eek!UPDATE - A picture of our Thanksgiving fare:Thanksgiving TurkeyAs you can see, we had three different types of gravy: vegetarian, regular, and low fat and low salt.

Mmmmmmm Thanksgiving. We have sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top.

I think I'm going to bake an apple pie in a pumpkin this year, and just put a crust on top of it, maybe something with a filo dough.

I'm excited for the holiday too. Can you tell?

Wow - apple pie in a pumpkin- I have never heard of that! how do you do it? is it just straight forward chop the apple, a little cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar in the pumpkin? Sounds very interesting...
