Organic Food Sustainability?

Now that's a tall order, and a difficult issue to address. In an ideal world there would be the most nutritious food available to everyone. But how could that be done? As it is there isn't enough generic quality food available for everyone, so how could it be ensured that the world or even a localized area could maintain an organic food crop."Think locally not globally." Local farmers are the life blood of the organic market as they tend to be smaller than larger corporate farms. This allows them to maintain the health of the crop easier as there are fewer plants to look after. That works for areas who have regular rain fall, and sunshine, but what about those areas that have a disproportionate amount of sunlight... like the desert?

This is a really complex issue- and I read a great article at the Grist explaining why it is so complex, from just the general challenges of sustainability to labor and wages. There is still so much to be said and analyzed but this had some interesting food for thought... (haha)
