Snow Storm Shopping

Today I battled the "severe snow storm warning" super market crowd. they're a lively bunch. Stocking up on milks, eggs, and butter, just in case we're snowed in for more than just a few days. I too fell subject to this as we had no food in the house, and there's nothing so bad as being hunkered in with out proper supplies. The snowstorm snack menu has to be healthy and warm for cold noses who have to go out and shovel. What's on our menu?Tonight will be nothing out of the ordinary salmon, kale, and quinoa. However I will start prepping the chili beans with a soak in some water. Tomorrow I'll finish making the chili, which should feed us for a few days. Warm cider with cinnamon and cloves will be the beverage of choice, and hot chocolate with Bailey's Irish cream for an evening treat.Breakfast is looking like bacon, eggs, and pancakes in some creative fashion fore the next two days, with cara cara oranges for vitamin C.If you can't tell, I love to be trapped in my house with cozy comfort foods, and my best friend. I just hope we don't lose power.
