Trader Joe’s Black Beans

Usually when I buy black beans I only buy one can. For some reason, today I bought two cans. When I got home, I was going to make burritos, but when I opened one can, there was something wrong with the beans. They were clumped up which is not how they usually are.Of course I was very glad to have bought two cans! Unfortunately, the second can was also bad. I called up Trader Joe's to let them know, and thankfully they said they'd give me two new cans. I suggested they open up a can there and see if they were OK, because I was so surprised that both cans I bought were bad.

You can always soak your own, ensuring they won't be bad! I know it takes longer and therefore some planning but they taste great. Once they are done you can freeze what you don't use and then let defrost the next time you need some. One bag is cheap and goes along way!

I'm definitely going to try that, I didn't know you could freeze them. Also - Trader Joe's took the two cans back without any hassle, but I chose the organic beans this time and paid the difference. Both cans were good!
