I have succumbed to the tasty allure of Seven Stars Bakery. The almond croissant is totally out of this world and the lemon cake is celestial. While I've been mooching off of the goodies which my sister Amy brings to family gatherings and such, I finally made a visit with her to their restaurant on Hope Street for lunch last week. The sandwich was good, but I was there for the almond croissant and the lemon cake.
I bought one of each to bring with me to New York City later that day, but as it turned out - I couldn't help myself. I gobbled up both of them right after my sandwich. So I had to spring for another set to go. But not a problem, they kept in perfect flavor and texture until the next morning.While there, I also ordered an iced coffee and I was so delighted to discover that the ice cubes were actually frozen coffee cubes. As my sister who is much more familiar with Seven Stars puts it - they are one of a few places that have such a stellar attention to detail and impressive quality control.Thank you Seven Stars for your yummy goodies!
