Well I finally did it. I eliminated processed sugars and sweeteners from my diet. I've been going for four days now. The only sugars I'm consuming are from fresh fruit, and pressed juices, concentrate plus water is not allowed. I don't remember ever experiencing anything like this in my life. I have always loved and reveled in sugar. Thus far the hardest part has been to recognize and remove products with sugar in them. Label reading has been my primary activity the last few days, and boy does it make me angry. So many foods that i eat on a regular basis have sugar added to them. Regular foods that I hadn't even thought of. Bread was the big killer for me, I finally found a pita product that doesn't add sugar. I've been stuffing them with organic salad greens, tomato, cucumber, and tuna from a pouch, with squeezed lemon, because you guessed it salad dressing definitely has sugar added to it. The tuna from a pouch became suspect last night though because it sits in vegetable broth, and the organic veggie broth in my closet has sugar in it, so I think that has to go too. It's a shame because it's way yummier than eating it from a can.How else have I been affected? I'm hoping last night was the worst with a mild head ache, and a very strong urge to mow the tasty sugary melon gum on my fiance's desk, which I ignored. It's been fairly simple to push aside the chocolate cravings, which seem to be more behavioral than any real urge to eat chocolate. A quick distraction will usually make me forget I was thinking about it. I also didn't realize I'd signed up to abstain from alcohol, apparently sugar is a major part of the process of making booze. That's not really a big deal to me as I rarely drink any way, though mojito season is just around the corner.I'm not sure how long I plan to keep this up for. I miss cake, specifically my newest discovery cake balls (I'll write up a review on these guys soon). So far I feel good, and have sufficient energy.

Wow, you mentioned a lot of products I wouldn't suspect. I'd be happy if I could cut the obvious offenders out of my diet soda, sweets, etc. But anyways, good for you, keep it up.
I don't think I could ever cut sugar out completely, but I do strive to avoid foods that have corn syrup or crazy inordinate amounts of sugar.
