Sangria

I was at a BBQ this past Saturday. They had the usual fair salads, chicken, chips, beer, ice tea etc.. When I got there I was promptly offered a drink, after going through the list of beverages I decided Sangria sounded light and delicious. I didn't realize what an incredible treat I was in for. This was the best Sangria I've ever had! Step one in making it is to boil ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, and star anise, with sugar in water. The infused water is then added to the wine and fruit. The woman who made it told me she doesn't use as much sugar as the recipe calls for, because otherwise it tastes like candy, and people don't realize they're consuming alcohol.
