I bought this without having any idea what lingonberries are. Judging by the preserves, I'd describe them as a mix between cranberries and raspberries. I also bought some lingonberry juice which tasted a lot like cranberry juice.
A quick search turns up that they are also called "Vaccinium vitis-idaea" among other names, including mountain cranberry.
