I bought some organic blueberries at "My Organic Market" today because my daughter absolutely loves blueberries. They were a bit expensive, about $4 for a pint, but they sure are tasty!
I did a little research and according to Wikipedia's blueberry article they appear to be very good with respect to maintaining a healthy lifestyle! I wouldn't be surprised to see a surge in blueberry products with Maine branding, similar to how Oceanspray created a strong and valuable brand around cranberries from New England.
So how are blueberries good with respect to maintaining a healthy lifestyle? According to Wikipedia:
"blueberries contain anthocyanins, other antioxidant pigments and various phytochemicals possibly having a role in reducing risks of some diseases, including inflammation and certain cancers".
Sounds good to me, because even without those potential benefits, they are delicious!
