In my humble opinion, a government body that recognizes a massive risk to human health, but does nothing is no better than if that government body did not exist at all.
I say this with respect to a news story that's just come out where the FDA acknowledges the human health risk of the use of antibiotics to bolster animal growth, but only issued voluntary guidelines for the industry to follow.
I find these practices to be sooo risky, because they have the potential to be fostering ultra-immune bacteria which could pose deadly threat to masses of people.
It is for that reason that I only buy meat that does not use antibiotic or growth hormones. Sure, its more expensive, but I'm trying to send the meat packing industry a message, as well as eat in a manner I feel is better for my health and the health of future generations.
